Angel Donors - We Need You

The Code Enforcement Officer Safety Foundation is committed to enhancing the safety and well-being of dedicated code enforcement officers who uphold community standards and ensure public safety. A cornerstone of our efforts is the Angel Donor Program, which addresses the urgent need for bulletproof vests.

The safety of code enforcement officers is a concern that affects us all. Angel Donors make a tangible impact on the lives of those who serve our neighborhoods. A donation of $8.09 per month helps supply bulletproof vests and training, equipping officers with critical equipment to perform their duties safely.

The Angel Donor Program encourages community involvement by recognizing donors and sharing updates about how their contributions make a difference. This initiative strengthens the bond between officers and citizens, while raising awareness of the importance of supporting those who work tirelessly to maintain safety and compliance.

By supporting the Angel Donor Program, individuals and businesses can significantly enhance officer safety and promote stronger community relations. Together, we can create a safer environment for our code enforcement officers and the communities they serve.

The Code Enforcement Officer Safety Foundation (CEOSF) was founded in 2020 and reached 501(c)(3) status in 2022 as a registered nonprofit charity. The Foundation launched its flagship charitable program - Request a Vest immediately after forming. This program provides brand new level iiia+ body armor to Code Officials/ACO across the globe who do not have the budget to get one of their own. With the rise in prices, body armor can easily exceed $750 per vest.

CEOSF launched the 8.09 Angel Donor Program to seek donors to support our programs. In honor of fallen Officer Jill Robinson who was murdered on August 9, 2018, you can donate just $8.09 a month to help us provide more resources. The Foundation is mission driven to give back and be good stewards of funds received. That is why we have been able to donate 62 body armor vests and 58 training scholarships in less than 4 years.

Understanding the Debate About Equipment

  by Justin Edson, CCEA, COSS   The results are in from the national survey and the data proves a positive trend.   The Foundation created a simple survey to understand the current data on what uniforms, equipment, and training is provided to agencies. The survey received 224 responses across 41 states (and our friends in British Columbia). Great turnout! The highlights include: 78% wear uniforms 49% have metal badges 37% have body armor (25% external & 12% concealed) 39% have police radios 30% have OC Spray Reviewing unbiased data is important. Understanding other people's point of view is important. I have worked at or supervised teams across 5 municipalities. The uniforms and equipment we were provided varied across all 5 agencies. Code Enforcement is not what it was 10 years ago. CEOSF Updates: Winter 2025

WINTER 2025 - Happy New Year friends! As we kick 2025 off with a great start, the Foundation is excited to share what has been going on this quarter. We gained new Regional Reps, sponsors, partners, and donors. We were also excited to give out our annual international awards in November. 2025 will bring some new offerings from the Foundation and we hope to build even more relationships!
